RSLinx - Getting Error: Class is not licensed for use 0x80040112

When I try to connect to my RSLinx OPC Server from my OPC client, I get the following error:
Class is not licensed for use 0x80040112

While RSLinx is not offered by Software Toolbox, it is an OPC Server that is often used on tandem with our OPC Solutions.

RSLinx requires a certain version in order to use OPC capabilities - and this is regulated via Rockwell's licensing mechanism. For example, you cannot connect to RSLinx Lite via OPC because that feature is disabled. You must have RSLinx Pro or Gateway to use OPC with RSLinx. If the OPC Client is on a remote or different PC than the RSLinx OPC Server, then the RSLinx Gateway version is required. This is a licensing requirement by Rockwell. Having the proper license should resolve the license error.
