Moved TOP Server Config - changing Network Adapter List - network adapter is not found
I am in the process of rebuilding a computer that has TOP Server on it. When I put my *.opf project configuration file on the new computer, I am getting an error in the event log stating that the network adapter is not found. If I look in the Channel Configuration in the Network adapter setup, the adapter I have is listed, but it shows an IP of 0.0.0.0 - what should I do?
I have put an IP in the adapter in this PC and I know it is working.
The behavior of showing 0.0.0.0 is what happens when you move from one computer to another and had hard bound the driver to a NIC (network interface card). The driver will show the CURRENT NIC that is in the box, but with the 0.0.0.0 IP address. You can set it to Default and get things going again in terms of communications. So how do we get that list of NICs updated?
If in the channel settings, when you change the network adapter to "Default" and then save the TOP Server configuration, exit TOP Server, come back in, you will then be able to pick the new network adapter and the current IP set for that network adapter will be shown.
