Modbus Device Communication Initiation via Modem

I have a Modbus device in the field that I need to dial up a PC running TOP Server in order to initiate communication. Can TOP Server answer the modem and get the data from the PLC?

Yes. In order to accomplish this, set up the modem in the PC as "auto-answer." When the Modbus slave device in the field dials up the TOP Server, the modem will answer and establish the connection. TOP Server will then begin communicating with the PLC.
