Excel is Freezing when attempting to establish a DDE connection

Excel is Freezing when attempting to establish a DDE connection.  Do you know what is happening?  How can we resolve this error?

We have seen this problem before and it usually happens when Nero (CD/DVD Burning Software) is installed on the machine.  There are two ways to resolve this problem.

1.  Disable Nero Scout.

2.  Uninstall Nero completely.

After following one of the steps above you MUST REBOOT.

After you have rebooted try to establish the DDE connection again.
