Can I upgrade from Industrial Gadgets ActiveX to Industrial Gadgets.NET?

The answer to this question must be considered from a Technical and Commercial point of view.

Technical: There really is not a way to directly take an ActiveX component in an application and replace it with a .NET component. Although Microsoft offers a means to take a VB6 application and bring it up into Visual Studio.NET, most developers we know end up re-writing their code in Visual Studio.NET anyway to take advantage of the capabilities of the .NET framework and VB.NET/C#.NET that did not exist in Visual Basic 6.

With that said, we have tried to keep things easy if you do want to do a migration by keeping our property names the same. You can see more about this in our how to upgrade tutorial.

Commercial: If you already own a license of Industrial Gadgets ActiveX, we do offer special pricing to purchase a license of Industrial Gadgets.NET.   That cost is US$500 instead of the normal $795, a 35% discount.
