S5 for Windows and Step 5 Compatibility
Will S5 for Windows do everything I was able to do in Step 5?
S5 for Windows is 100% compatible with the Step 5 software from Siemens; however, some special interface cards used in Siemens systems require special COM software from Siemens.
These COM software packages cannot be used in combination with our S5 for Windows. These COM packages run on the CPM operating system (or in a CPM shell under MS-DOS). Most COM packages, can be used "stand-alone". That means they can run without the programming software (either from Siemens or us).
