What connectivity protocols does Cogent DataHub support?
Cogent DataHub supports OPC UA, OPC DA, OPC A&E, MQTT, DDE, TCP/IP APIs, ODBC-compliant databases, and OPC HDA.
What are the key DataHub specifications?
Data transmission rates are client-dependent and typically support thousands of points per second.
Automatic reconnect is supported after network breaks, with recovery and no intervention required.
No point list configuration is required; DataHub creates points as they are needed.
DataHub uses a publish/subscribe model with no polling delays and no transmission of static data values.
Can different versions of DataHub communicate with each other?
Yes. Cogent DataHub v11 can communicate with DataHub v7, v8, v9, and v10 using Tunneling and OPC DA.
Are there any known compatibility issues?
Microsoft security patch KB5004442 changed DCOM authentication requirements for OPC Classic connections. If networked OPC connections fail after applying this Windows update, update DataHub to v9.0.11 or higher, or configure the OPC client's authentication level to Default, Packet Integrity, or Packet Privacy.
