Error Installing OmniServer V2.7 or newer on Windows 2000
I have upgraded from OmniServer V2.6 to V2.7, but at the start of the application I have the following error message:
Omnisrv.exe: Entry Point Not Found
The procedure entry point RtlUnhandledExceptionFilter could not be located in .. ntdll.dll
OmniServer is being installed on a Windows 2000 operating system. The V2.6 was and is working.
My question is if this software is compatible with Windows 2000, and/or if are required some proprietary .dll files or settings?
Starting with V2.7, OmniServer is no longer supported on the Windows 2000 platform of operating systems. The level of .NET framework required by V2.7 does not support certain .dlls, resulting in the problems you are encountering.
The options here would be:
- Migrate to a newer operating system, such as Windows XP or Windows 7
- Rollback to OmniServer V2.6. If you need to rollback to V2.6, you can download the installer from the following link: Download OmniServer V2.6
When upgrading a licensed V2.6, the licensing is not affected, so rolling back results in V2.6 still being fully licensed.
