OPC Data Logger and RSLinx - Getting Error: Class is not licensed for use 0x80040112

Local Connection

If RSLinx is on the same machine as the OPC Data Logger.  OPC Data Logger should be configured to connect to the "RSLinx OPC Server" and NOT the "RSLinx Remote OPC Server".  Confirm RSLinx Lite is not being used.  Lite does not support an OPC connection. If RSLinx is not the Lite version, there are changes in the OPC Data Logger configuration that can allow for a connection. 

1.  Open the Properties of the Data Collector.
2.  Go to the Extended Properties tab.
3.  Set the "Connect In-Process" property to True. Click OK.

This will typically resolve this error when RSLinx is local.

Remote Connection

If RSLinx is running on a remote machine, OPC Data Logger will need to be configured to connect to the "RSLinx Remote OPC Server" and there is a valid license for RSLinx Gateway. RSLinx Gateway is the only version of RSLinx that supports remote connections.
