Warning: Server has adjusted the group Scanrate to 1 msec

The warning "Server has adjusted the group Scanrate to 1 msec." is returned by your OPC Server when one or more of your groups of items in the OPC Data Logger being configured with a scan rate of 0 msec.

The OPC Data Logger is logging my data correctly.  But I am seeing the following warning periodically in my event log:

"Server has adjusted the group Scanrate to 1 msec."

What does this mean?

The warning "Server has adjusted the group Scanrate to 1 msec." is returned by your OPC Server when one or more of your groups of items in the OPC Data Logger being configured with a scan rate of 0 msec.

Since it is relatively impossible for an OPC Server to support an update rate of 0 msec, this message is returned by the OPC Server to indicate that it will scan at the fastest scan rate it supports, which is shown in the warning message.

This warning should only be a concern if you did not intend for your OPC Server to scan for your items as quickly as possible.  In that case, you would need to set the group scan rate in OPC Data Logger to the desired scan rate that is greater than 0 msec to resolve this warning.  You may also set the scan rate to 1 msec if you desire the fastest scan rate possible without this warning.

This warning message is generated as required for OPC compliance and not as an indication of a problem with communications.
