BACnet/IP - Device Compatibility

What devices is the TOP Server BACnet/IP driver compatible with?

The primary thing to consider with the TOP Server BACnet/IP driver is that it supports Annex J of the BACnet protocol specification. BACnet has "services/commands" referred to as BIBBs (BACnet Interoperability Building Blocks) which are the BACnet services that a particular device or software supports. If a master (such as TOP Server) supports the corresponding BIBBs for a slave device, they will work together.

That is what actually defines whether TOP Server will work with a particular device or not. TOP Server BACnet/IP supports the following BIBBs.

Every BACnet device will have a PICS (Protocol Implementation Conformance Statement) that defines what parts of the BACnet specification it supports.  We would just need to confirm that a BACnet slave supports the BACnet services corresponding to the above list.  That is the way we determine if a particular device will work with TOP Server.

If there is any question whether a BACnet device is compatible with TOP Server, you can submit the PICS statement for your device to support@softwaretoolbox.com for assistance in determining compatibility.
