Saving an S5 or S7 PLC Program using S5/S7 for Windows

I've connected to my PLC and uploaded all the on-line blocks to my PC but I can not save!

When connecting the a Siemens PLC and uploading (from PLC to PC) for the first time, you need to have already created a new project for the configuration to "land" in.

  1. Create your project (File ⇒ New from the file menu) so it shows up in your Offline tree view.2941 - Tree
  2. Connect to the PLC and upload the program from the PLC to the PC.
  3. Ensure that the proper project file is highlighted.
  4. From the file menu, select File ⇒ Save As...
  5. Select the appropriate format and save.
