Installing a TOP Server V5 Hardware Key

I purchased the hardware key option with my TOP Server V5 license.  How do I activate my TOP Server V5 using the hardware key I have received?

In order for the physical hardware key to be recognized by the TOP Server V5, the hardware key certificate file you will have received from us must be registered with the License Utility. This file (.lic extension) would have been sent you in on one or both of the following ways:

  1. This file would have been an attachment to your email delivery confirmation.
  2. This file would have been included on a CD/Disk received with the physical hardware key.

To register the hardware key certificate, import it into the License Utility:

  1. Once the hardware key and corresponding hardware key certificate file have been obtained from the vendor, open the TOP Server V5 License Utility on the TOP Server machine you need to license.
  2. Select Manage Hardware Key Certificates from the drop-down options menu and click Next.
  3. Click Import File... under Import a Hardware Key Certificate.
  4. Browse to the hardware key certificate file (.lic) that has been provided and then click OK. The file will have a unique name, consisting of the Hardware Key ID and the extension .lic.

The certificate is then processed by the License Utility. If it is successful, the View Page will be displayed showing the newly imported licenses.

Once this process is complete, the License Utility will recognize the physical hardware key when it is present on this machine and your TOP Server V5 will be licensed.  This process is necessary on any TOP Server V5 machine where you wish to use this physical hardware key.

TOP Server will only be licensed when the physical hardware key is present on the machine.
