OmniServer V2.8 - Upgrading V2.7 - Licensing Issue

I have OmniServer V2.7 installed and licensed and want to upgrade to OmniServer V2.8.  After installing OmniServer V2.8 and attempting to license OmniServer again, my OmniServer V2.8 is still showing demo status under Help ⇒ Registration Code.

What is the issue preventing my re-registered license activation from being accepted by OmniServer?

This answer assumes that you contacted Software Toolbox to reset your serial/license number and that you've successfully registered online and have your new unlock code.  If that is not the case, please submit a re-registration request here.

If you downloaded the OmniServer V2.8 installer prior to February 5, 2014 at 9 AM Eastern, there was a known issue with that version of the installer that corrupted the license file, preventing registration.  The solution is to download the updated installer by clicking here.

If you downloaded after February 5, 2014 at 9 AM Eastern and are seeing similar issues, make sure you have stopped and restarted the OmniServer Poller (either from the OmniServer Configuration File menu or by right-clicking on the system tray icon and selecting Exit).
