How can I display leading zeroes within Excel?

My previous OPC Server did not require that I include the leading zeroes when referencing an Output coil. I exported a CSV list of tags from my client application and have tried to add the leading zeroes. Excel does not keep the zeroes. How can I add these?

It is possible to format the cells within Excel to allow for leading zeroes.

1. Select the cell or range of cells that you want to format.
2. On the Home tab, in the Number group, click the dialog box launcher  next to Number.
3. In the Category list, click Custom and then, in the Type box, type the number format (000000) for a Modbus Register.
