Connecting OmniServer to a Mettler Toledo IND780
How do I configure OmniServer to interface with a MT IND780 via SICS commands?
Unlike other models of the Mettler Toledo scales, the IND780 requires applications that are requesting data to "register" with the shared data server. This can be avoided by matching some appropriate settings:
- Configuring the secondary port on the IND780 to 1702
- Add a connection in the connections area of Network Setup with:
Port: EPrint
Assignment: SICS
Triggers: None - Exit out of Setup, and allow the scale to reset
The IND780 is now configured to communicate via the SICS protocol over port 1702 at the configured scale IP Address. OmniServer would be configured for a TCP Connection to the appropriate IP and port 1702.
The Request/Response structure will follow the standard SICS message structure described in the Mettler Toledo Technical Manuals, particularly Appendix D (Page D-44 for SICS specifically)
