Communicating with a Simatic HMI Comfort Panel via OPC UA
How can I connect my Simatic device to a Simatic HMI comfort panel?
The Simatic HMI Comfort Panels can connect to TOP Server with WinCC flexible as an OPC UA client. TOP Server has to be installed on a separate PC and can not be directly installed on the comfort panel. Any number of panels and PLC’s can communicate though this link.
TOP Server will need to be set up with the Simatic/TI driver to talk to the Simatic device. Then using the OPC UA server interface, TOP Server can serve data to the Comfort Panel's built-in OPC UA client.
