DDE connection between TOP Server and Excel

I lost my connection between Excel and TOP Server and I can't get it back. This project was just working so I know the settings are correct.

There are two things you need to check to make sure you can connect your Excel worksheet to TOP Server.

  1. TOP Server must be configured to run as Interactive, not a System Service. To check your setting go to the TOP Server Administration icon in your system tray and select Settings. Under the Runtime Process tab you will need to select Interactive for the Process Mode. If it was set to System Service you will need to hit apply and then shut down your TOP Server application completely.
  2. Once in Interactive Mode, the TOP Server Configuration window must be up and connected before your Excel document can be opened. If Excel is opened before TOP Server the DDE connection will not be established.

Also, in Excel, check under the Data tab ⇒ Edit Links: all the Source tags default to Update Manual— change this to Automatic
