How to resolve LGH File Inspector Crashes on Windows Vista

The error message and subsequent crash are due to a missing or corrupt .NET 4.5 Framework - which is required to be installed on the machine in order for the LGH File Inspector to function properly.

I am seeing my LGH File Inspector crash with an error message "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc00007b). Click OK to terminate the application" while running on Windows Vista - how do I fix this?

Please do the following:

  1. Uninstall the LGH File Inspector
  2. Install .NET 4.5 manually - this is included with the LGH install files for your convenience, but can also be downloaded from the Microsoft Website
  3. Make sure to answer "yes" to a reboot of the machine after installing the new framework
  4. After the reboot, reinstall the LGH File Inspector
