DataHub Tunnel Handling Non-Normalized Floating Point Values

I am using the DataHub tunnel to mirror several Floating Point tags. Whenever one of our tags shows a Non-normalized value e.g. a Not-a-Number (NaN) condition - the value shows correctly on the local side of the tunnel, but on the remote side the value is changed to an Exponential Number. Is this expected behavior?

At the moment the DataHub does not support tunnelling non-normalized floating point numbers due to a limitation of the Microsoft Variant data type - which is used in the tunnel.
