Externally Triggered Event using GE EGD Driver
Using TOP Server, is it possible to control the EGD producer through an external triggered event? I want to prevent TOP Server from sending its EGD messages from another software package.
The GE Ethernet Global Data driver is different then other TOP Server drivers. If the items on the Exchange List are set as Producer items, they will be broadcasted at a particular rate. If the items on the Exchange List are set as Consumers, they will be set to receive data when it is broadcasted. In order for the server to broadcast or only receive broadcasts based on an event, the "Channel.Device._System._Enabled" TOP Server system tag must be set high/low in order to turn the Exchange List on and off using your client. Remember that the Channel name and Device name will be from the TOP Server configuration.
