TOP Server 6.x Installer Error "CreateProcess failed (266)"
I am getting a "CreateProcess failed (266). Please rerun install." error when I try to run my TOP Server v6 installer - it appears this happens when the prerequisites are checked. How can I install TOP Server v6 on my machine.
TOP Server 6.1 requires an update to the C++ Runtime, which is installed during the TOP Server installation process. This error is telling us that the vcredist installer is failing to start because one of the trusted Root Certification Authorities Certificates is missing or not trusted. To fix this issue, please download and install the two certificates below:
TOP Server 6.1 Root Certificate Authority Certificates
To install the the certificates:
- Open a command prompt and run the following command to open the certificate store for the local machine: C:\Windows\System32\mmc.exe C:\Windows\system32\certlm.msc
- Confirm that the certificate manager that opens is for the local computer - the top level item in the tree view on the left side should read "Certificates - Local Computer"
- Right click on the "Trusted Root Certification Authorities" Folder and select All Task ⇒ Import...
- Browse to the two certificates above and install them one at a time
- Close the certificate manager console
At this point the installer should complete without problems.
