OPC Router V4.28

This version significantly expands OPC Router's MQTT capabilities and adds more cloud options and more flexible triggers, and reduces the cost of using OPC Router as an OPC UA server.  Also available is a new subscription pricing option that provides the most common OPC Router functionality at a very attractively priced annual subscription cost.

As with all versions after V4.25, users that are upgrading from a version of OPC Router older than V4.25 are strongly advised to review our How To Upgrade FAQ before downloading and installing this update, as depending on the complexity of your configuration, additional planning may be required because of changes made in Version 4.25, that are also a part of this release.

Users on active support & maintenance agreements can upgrade to this new version free of charge unless you want to license new features that you have not already licensed. If you need to add any features or have questions, contact us.

  • MQTT Capability expansion - The OPC Router's MQTT client adds:
    • Sparkplug A & B support through a new MQTT Sparkplug plug-in

  • New Triggers for added flexibility
    • Database State Transfer trigger enables OPC Router to be notified of table content changes. OPC Router can receive notification or notification + changed data and handshake write back to the database to a transfer state column to signify OPC Router has received the data. Avoids polling the database for changes which improves performance.
    • Global Variable Trigger - reduces need for scripting by setting a global variable from visual workflows when some data change occurs, and having that global variable then be a trigger for other data transfers or actions to occur.
  • Other Enhancements
    • Hardware TPM ( trusted platform module V2.0) licensing for docker containers running on edge devices that do not have internet access
    • Docker portainer management container can now also be published automatically
