DataHub v10 Frequently Ask Questions

Can DataHub 10 connect to DataHub v9?
Yes, you can easily tunnel data between DataHub v10 and v9, v8 and even version 7.

Can I run version 9 and DataHub 10 together on the same computer?
No. When you install DataHub v10 on a system that is already running v9 the process will install DataHub 10 on top of v9. The configuration from v9 will be transferred to the new DataHub 10.

Can I go back to version 9 after installing version 10?
In most cases, a customer that upgrades to DataHub 10 can choose to go back to version 9 without any difficulty.  We ALWAYS recommend backing up your configuration before upgrading.  See our Upgrading to v10 Best Practices.

Can I still buy DataHub v9 after DataHub 10 is released?
After DataHub 10 is released, customers will receive DataHub 10 licenses, unless version 9 has been requested. You can continue to purchase version 9 licenses up until January 1, 2025.

How do I request an upgrade license?
Upgrade licenses are linked to the existing customer v9 or v8 license codes, so to generate an upgrade license, we require the original license key. To request an upgrade license, please request your upgrade license. We will generate an upgrade license key that is based on the original v8 or v9 license. You can find the license key numbers in the file named licenses.lic, located in the users configuration directory:
C:\Users\{user name}\AppData\Roaming\Cogent DataHub
Or for version 8 running in Windows XP or Windows Server 2003:
C:\Documents and Settings\{user name}\Application Data\Cogent DataHub

My license is not on maintenance, can I upgrade to DataHub 10?
You can buy support for your version 9 or version 8 licenses at any time. Once the licenses are on support, you can request an upgrade license free of charge.  Learn more about the maintenance support plan.

I have version 8 and 9 Tunnellers installed and would like to tunnel engineering units and range?
In order to tunnel engineering units and range, you must be using DataHub 10 on both ends of the tunnel.

I want an MQTT broker but does not want OPC DA or UA support.

We have added a new license pack called DataHub Smart Broker that includes MQTT Broker, and the Tunnel/Mirror feature.
