TOP Server V6.10 or Newer Configuration Crashes with Error "Server - Configuration has stopped working: A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Please close the program".

Starting with V6.10, TOP Server upgraded support for the Visual C++ runtime redistributable components from Microsoft to Version 142. This dependency requires the newer redistributables be installed on older systems that don't have binary compatibility with the newer version. As such, machines that don't have the newer redistributables installed will have issues with the TOP Server Configuration closing and generating the referenced error message.

This is only an issue for TOP Server Versions 6.10 or newer on machines where the TOP Server installer cannot access the internet during installation in order to download and install the redistributables.

 

To resolve this issue, you can download and manually install the latest version of the Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Redistributables from Microsoft on the affected TOP Server machines.
