Dynamic tags fail on Secondary when configured with Media-Level Redundancy in TOP Server
When utilizing Dynamic Tag Addressing with TOP Server through an Alias, communications will not fail over to the secondary when configured with Media-Level Redundancy.
Tag quality returns "Bad" when the primary device fails and the secondary device configured for Media-Level Redundancy does not work as expected.
This issue has been reported to Development and is expected to be addressed in the TOP Server V6.17 Release.
To mitigate this issue in versions V6.16 and earlier, consider the options below:
- To maintain the usage of Aliases, users must create static tags in TOP Server for the client to reference instead of Dynamically Addressing tags.
- To maintain the usage of Dynamic Tag Addressing, users must reference the full Channel.Device.Tag reference of each item from the client, instead of utilizing an Alias.
