If Administrators wish to limit user access to disabling the confirmation requirement, they should also limit user access to the options dialog through the Administrator only utility. (#4667)

  • Application administrators can now configure the application behavior settings such as the audit log, via the command line, vs opening the application configuration UI (SWTB.OPCServerRemoteConfig.Configurator.exe). This is intended for experienced administrators doing large volume deployments and wishing to control settings. It is not intended for regular users or inexperienced users, who can instead launch SWTB.OPCServerRemoteConfig.Configurator.exe and configure via the UI. Settings are passed in through an XML file but password for the database connection must be passed on the command line, to avoid storing that in any file we control. Administrators are responsible for assuring security of any scripts they use to utilize this mass configuration capability. (#4567).

  • If user hand edits the OPCServerRemoteConfigClient.config file to remove the factory default entries, the application will now honor that and not replace them upon restart. Users encouraged to make backup of the config file before editing should they wish to restore the factory default entries. (#4566)

  • Improved error messaging on warning when application starts if user or their IT environment has made the application configuration file read only. If the issue is the file marked read only, instead of directory right access, the user is explicitly told that the file is read only. (#4661)

  • Made Meter Group names in EFM drivers read only, to match native configuration client behavior (#4648)
