LGH File Inspector Scheduled Task Not Executing

Why is my LGH File Inspector Scheduled Task Not executing or getting stuck in the "Running" state?

We have seen customers unable to run LGH File Inspector automated queries via scheduled tasks under the following conditions:
  • Operating System in use is Windows Server 2022
    • Has been seen on occasion with Windows 11 as well but more consistently with Server 2022
  • Security option for scheduled task is set to "Run whether user is logged on or not"
    • Must be set to "Run only when user is logged on" instead
An important thing to note about this limitation is that it should not affect the operability of running your LGH automated queries. This is because LGH File Inspector operates solely as a process, not a service, meaning it can only run when a user is logged on. Since many users typically run LGH File Inspector on the same machine as their AVEVA InTouch instance, a user is logged on in those cases allowing the automated queries to run.

Note: This behavior is not specific to LGH File Inspector, all tested applications (such as Notepad) on Windows Server 2022, running under the "Run whether user is logged on or not" security option will not launch/run in our testing.
