RSLinx and TOP Server on Same Machine
Is it possible to use a dual port PKTX card to run the TOP Server and RSLinx at the same time on the same PC to access multiple devices using DH+?
TOP Server will not run with RSLinx on the card at the same time because RSLinx retains control of the card. We suggest using a different PC for PLC programming than for process management.
TOP Server can be used with RSLinx on the same PC if you use a ControlLogix Gateway to connect to the DH+ network. This requires a ControlLogix rack with a power supply, an Ethernet module, a DH+ module, and an Ethernet card in the PC.
