S5/S7 PLC Software Not Showing Some Blocks Correctly
The software has a canned software routine, written by Siemens and used at many of our locations. The old Step5 DOS software does not have a problem with it, displaying or downloading. The S5/S7 for Windows software will do neither and seems to scramble what is viewed.
Some blocks are known as protected blocks, which contain assembler code. The Step5 should also not show these blocks within the editor, they should be blocked. Siemens has a number of "canned" blocks used to program special functions. If you enter the product ID Step5 gives you the error:
10C7: Code not defined!
You should not open these blocks, or save these blocks after they have been opened. The blocks were designed to be called only from another block and defined.
