TOP Server Release Notes (7.0.236.0) November 25, 2025

Server General

  • This version contains several security enhancements. Updating to this version of the product is strongly recommended.

  • Compatibility Validated for Windows Server 2025

  • Windows Server 2012 and Server 2012 R2 are no longer supported

  • Updated licensing and hardware key drivers to support Windows 2025.

  • Fixed an issue in the License Utility where some command line options did not work in certain terminal contexts.

  • Beginning in 7.0, all self-signed instance certificates issued by TOP Server now default to more secure 2048-bit public keys. When upgrading from prior versions, server instances utilizing self-issued instance certificates require action for client/server applications to trust TOP Server. Consult the Migration Guide prior to upgrading. This includes:

    • OPC UA Server Interface Instance Certificate

    • OPC UA Client Driver Instance Certificate

    • Configuration API Service REST Server Instance Certificate

    • IEC 61850 MMS Client Instance Certificate

    • MQTT Client Driver Instance Certificate

Server Administration

  • Integrated Active Directory support for user management.

Client Interfaces

OPC .NET
  • The deprecated OPC .NET (also known as OPC XI) Interface has been removed from the product. JSON project files with any reference to the OPC .NET Interface must be edited to remove the XI Interface properties to load.

OPC DA Server
  • Fixed an issue that could result in the OPC DA Group count limit being exceeded.

Plug-Ins / Utilities

Advanced Tags Plug-In
  • Fixed an issue where link tags could not be set to reference tags with array data types.

DataLogger Plug-In
  • Improved Float/Double handling when the target column is a DECIMAL data type.

  • Improved the performance of the PostgreSQL query used to establish a recordset for DataLogger-created database tables.

TIA Portal Tag Export Utility
  • Added support for TIA Portal v20 projects.

Drivers

Allen-Bradley ControlLogix Ethernet
  • Improved attribute retrieval for the device identity, which can retrieve specific attributes instead of all attributes.

  • Improved attribute retrieval for Logix data types during project upload, which now retrieves the specific attributes instead of all attributes.

  • Added support for firmware V37:

    • Added new members to existing ENERGY_BASE, ENERGY_ELECTRICAL, ODOMETER, SIGNED_ODOMETER PDTs for offline tag generation.

    • Added new OPCUA_SERVER_ADDRESS PDT for offline tag generation

  • Added support for firmware V36:

    • No support for new motion reference PDTs (e.g. REF_TO_AXIS_CIP_DRIVE).

    • Added new members to existing AXIS_CIP_DRIVE PDTs for L5K/L5X ATG.

    • Increased the min/max days from +/-31d to +/-106750d for TIME and LTIME

  • Additional support for firmware V35: Added support for Predefined Data Types (PDTs) P_DISCRETE_4STATE, P_DISCRETE_MIX_PROOF, and P_DISCRETE_N_POSITION.

  • Improved speed and stability of project uploads for Logix and Gateway models by using connected messaging when uploading tag information.

BACnet/IP Driver
  • Fixed an issue where automatic tag generation can fail due to unexpected or unsupported encoding for a property value.

DNP Client Ethernet Driver
  • Fixed an issue that could result in high CPU utilization.

DNP Client Serial Driver
  • Fixed an issue that could result in high CPU utilization.

Fanuc Focas Ethernet Driver
  • Added the ability to read and write to the extended common macro range (98,000-98,499).

IEC 61850 MMS Client Driver
  • Fixed an issue with processing digital signatures in MMS messages.

  • Newly generated instance certificates now default to more secure 2048-bit public keys.

  • Introduced a configurable property to enable secure connections with SISCO devices that utilize a variant of the MMS signature implementation.

    • Note: Upgrading to this version may cause communication with SISCO devices to fail unless the new Enable SISCO Compatibility property is enabled. The change to fix the processing of digital signatures in MMS messages improves security, but requires user action to maintain compatibility with existing SISCO configurations.

Keyence KV Ethernet Driver
  • Fixed an issue that prevented changing the Ethernet adapter.

MQTT Client Driver
  • Beginning in 7.0, all self-signed instance certificates issued by TOP Server now default to more secure 2048-bit public keys. When upgrading from prior versions, server instances utilizing self-issued instance certificates require action for client/server applications to trust TOP Server. Consult the Migration Guide prior to upgrading.

MTConnect Client Driver
  • Added support for GET Sample Command feature to view historical data and retrieve all data samples over time. This enhances the functionality by also allowing the end users to plot trends and run analysis and diagnostics tools.

  • Receive transactions now more accurately distinguish between successful responses and recoverable errors. When errors such as schema validation errors, HTTP errors, or MTConnect protocol errors occur, the system will automatically retry the transaction according to the configured properties. This enhancement improves resilience and ensures more reliable data reception by giving transient issues a chance to resolve before the transaction is marked as failed.

  • The Settings group has been renamed Communications, now organized into two sections: Communications and Update Mode. Existing properties have been redistributed, and two new properties have been introduced: Command and Update Interval. Property visibility is now dynamically controlled based on the selected Command Mode (Current or Sample) to improve configuration clarity and usability.

OPC UA Client Driver
  • Improved performance of the driver when working with a large number of tags.

  • Fixed an issue that could result in the driver getting stuck in a loop reconnecting if the connected server errors when closing an expired session.

Siemens S7 MPI
  • Improved handling of Siemens strings.

SNMP Driver
  • Added support for Inter-Request Delay to specify how long the driver waits before sending the next request to the target device after receiving the response to the previous request.

Torque Tool Ethernet Driver
  • Resolved an issue where devices that do not support some MIDs would set the error state; device error state now correctly reflects device connection status.

  • Resolved an issue that could cause the _System_Error tag to change values unexpectedly.

Yokogawa CX Ethernet Driver
  • Fixed an issue where the driver was not closing the socket after the last client disconnects.

Yokogawa DX Ethernet Driver
  • Fixed an issue where the driver was not closing the socket after the last client disconnects.

Yokogawa GX Ethernet Driver
  • Fixed an issue where the driver was not closing the socket after the last client disconnects.

Yokogawa MX Ethernet Driver
  • Fixed an issue where the driver was not closing the socket after the last client disconnects.
